Brookfields Primary School

Dear parents and children.

We hope you had a good weekend. This week we will be learning about the season of Spring and will go on a Spring walk around the school to look for new signs of plant growth. In phonics we are trying to identify rhyming words in nursery rhymes and in maths, we matching numerals to quantities of objects. We are also learning about the human life cycle and will be talking about the different stages of growth from a baby to an adult.

Please continue to read to your child and then ask them questions about the book you have read and encourage your child to answer in sentences. Explain the meaning of new words that your child may be unfamiliar with, Rereading books that the are familiar with or have already is good as they will become familiar with the story and they can try and retell the story to you. Ask them to describe how the characters are feeling the book and to predict what might happen next.

Thank you for all your support and for sending your child's baby photos to us.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Please bring in book bags.
