Hello parents and nursery children.
The children have settled well and are becoming familiar with the school rules and the rules of good listening and the routines of the day. There are a few children with runny noses and coughs. Please support them and show them how to wipe their noses correctly and to 'catch their cough,' either in their hand or into their arms and then to wash their hands. Please also continue to practise putting on coats.
If there are any outstanding questionnaires please could I have these returned after you have answered the questions. Feel free to add any other information about your child.
A reminder that your child brings home a book that you need to read to them few times so that they become familiar with the story. Ask them questions about the story/book. Get them to talk about the picture and encourage them to talk in sentences. Finally, write a comment in their yellow reading record book. Comments such as if whether they enjoyed or disliked the book, whether they had a favourite part or if they could answer questions about the book.
This week we will be learning about Autumn and will be going on an Autumn walk. We will be looking for different coloured leaves that we shall also use for leaf printing. We have an Autumn table which has pumpkins, acorns, fir cones and Autumn coloured leaves to enthuse the children.
We shall be describing and exploring the pumpkins later in the week which will be very exciting. I hope to put up some pictures of this activity.
Thank you for your continued support.
