Brookfields Primary School

Hello parents and children

We hope you all are well and had a good weekend. We can not believe how fast time has gone and soon it will be time that all the nursery children to leave. We have thoroughly enjoyed having all the of your precious little children in our class and watching them grow and develop.

This week we shall be learning about toys from the past and present day. We shall look at some toys from the past and present,  talk about the materials they were made from and how they differ from present day toys. Please could you talk about the toys you played with in your childhood. it would be lovely to hear the children talking about this. We shall also be looking at forces by looking at toys that need to be pushed and pulled. We are also learning to write our names using the correct letter formation. If you can support your children with this as well it would be great. In phonics we are learning about alliteration in words.

Thank you to the parents who are providing children with water bottles. Just a reminder that only water should be provided.

Thank you for all your support.

Understanding the World

Parents talk to your children about the toys you played with when you were little.

Now ask your children the following questions:

What toys do you like to play with? Why do you like this toy? What material are they made from? would you like to play with any of the toys from the past?

Here are some toys for you to sort out into the correct circle. I used to play on a space hopper. It was fun.
