Brookfields Primary School

27th September 2021

Hello Nursery and parents.

This week we have been developing our listening skills and our fine motor skills. In phonics we went for a sound walk in the play ground. We heard the machines from the nearby factory and a lot of banging sounds. We also heard the cars from the main road and an aeroplane and birds fly by.

We would like you to go on a listening walk around your house, garden or to the park and talk about the things you can hear.

We have also been strengthening our fingers by using Dough Disco. We watched a video and practised the exercises. We rolled, splat, poked and pinched the play dough. We would like you to practise these exercises at home. You can make the play dough by following the easy recipe below or you can use a small sponge. Enjoy and have lots of fun!

We also have been looking at different logos in the environment and naming the ones we recognise. Here are some that we looked at.

Are there any more logos or print in the environment that you recognise? Keep a lookout as you go shopping or on your way to school.
