Bee Day!

Maths Session: ‘Bee Day!’ – 04.11.19

L.O: To celebrate the contribution of bees to the world.

Why do bees use hexagons?

We found out that bees use hexagons because they use the least amount of wax and store the most amount of honey!

We also found out that 2D shapes with curved sides do not tessellate.

TSC: explore the shapes used within bee hives

SC: tessellation

SC: problem solving
