Daniel Sturridge came to visit Brookfield's Primary on a surprise visit at the end of thier sports week in aid of sports relief. This was organised by his good friend and PE instructor Mr Francis. It was no surprise that the children were super excited to see Mr Sturridge. They were able to ask questions and take photos with Mr Sturridge. It was an experience that they will never forget as one child quote "Things like this never happen to children like us"
We decided to bring Daniel Sturridge to Brookfield's to inspire the future sports leaders of this generation. This was also a message to the children that it does not matter what your background is or where you've come from to achieve your goals and dreams in life. Daniel lived a couple roads away from Brookfield's and has played for the biggest clubs in the premier league as well as representing his country in a world cup and the euros.
Daniel Sturridge later went on to say ;
"At Brookfield's primary school in Hockley for sports relief. I grew up about 200 metres from here. I never had a footballer come to St. George's when I was young so I had to show love to a local school. Spreading positive vibes and inspiration to the children always because they're the future and they can be anything they want to be no matter where they're from or the environment they grow up in"
