Instructional Writing

Revisit all these sounds please over the holidays. We notice after a holiday there are a lot of gaps in children's learning. This only hinders their progress. It MUST be rehearsed daily at home. iPads are a great gadget to have! However, time needs to be limited to 10 minutes for a 5/6 year old, no longer!

Phonics: How to blend sounds to read words | Oxford Owl

Is your child able to blend?
Blending is the ability to put the individual sounds together in a word to hear and say the word.

Find more phonics help on Oxford Owl: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/reading/phonics-made-easy/

The flash cards can easily be made with plain paper.

Below are the sound mats for reception. Please continue to revisit these with your child daily at home. We will revisit these in class as well over the next week.
