Brookfields Primary School

Home Learning for week beginning 15/06/20

Friday 19th June 2020

Hi Year 6!

Friday already! This week feels like it has gone very fast. Let’s hope we get some better weather this weekend!  Don’t forget Sunday will be the longest day, the Summer Solstice. Will you do something to celebrate?

It will also be Father’s Day, a day when we can celebrate people close to us, who help us and inspire us. It might be your dad, an older brother, granddad, uncle or anyone who takes care of you. Perhaps you could do something nice for this person or maybe make them a card to thank them?

TTRS Competition!

                                                                             It’s tough at the top!

Brookfields is still in first place, but Chilwell Croft are now in close second! Well done to those who are playing! (It’s still not many of you!)

Nabeel, Chloe and Marouane are holding their positions among the top scorers in year 6! Super effort!

But the gap is closing! We need EVERYONE to play if we are to hold on to first place and win!

Many of you haven’t logged on yet  today is the final day! Come on, get playing!

 Today’s Tasks

Time for Friday’s Family Challenge!

Remember these start off easier and get tricky as you work through. You could do them on your own, or you could work together as a family or you could make it competitive and challenge your family - who can get the most right?

Here are the questions and the answers:

Computing

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zq39vwx

How do you know if you can trust a website?

Learn the basics of how to know what information you can trust online.

This lesson includes:

  • one video on evaluating online content
  • four activities to try at home

That’s it for today! Well done for all your hard work this week.

Have a good weekend, take care, stay active and don’t forget to wash those hands!

Missing you loads.

Teatime Talk - 19.06.20

Every day I will be posting a 'teatime talk' question for you all to discuss at home with your family. These questions are thunks.

There are NO right or wrong answers to these questions – simply YOUR answers.

You do, however, need to think about your answers and be able to justify them – in other words, don’t say the first thing that comes into your head, AND, be prepared to fully explain your answers when you give them.

Listen to the answers given by others and treat them seriously – even if they sound odd, they may all be valid if they can be justified.
