Hi Year 6!

Well, here we are at the end of the week! I hope you are all keeping well and that you have had a productive week with your online studies.  Well done for all the hard work you are putting in. We are still missing you every day.

Today is May Day, a time when we can celebrate the coming of summer.  I’ve noticed the trees and plants are all turning a vibrant green! New life is everywhere at this time and the flowers are beautiful! Hopefully you are able to get outside and see some of this fantastic display.

Remember to keep active! Have you joined in with Joe’s PE lesson?

Make some notes of your ideas.

Remember to keep up with your reading on Bug Club, Active Learn.

Our TTRockstars Battle has ended check out the results:

Wow! That was close! Only 697 points between the teams! The girls made a great effort towards the end to narrow the gap, but the boys are the winners! Well done boys! Excellent efforts from Wenxi and Faduma, who are at the top of the leader boards. Mustafa E, Marouane, Hlya and Chloe all scored highly too!

Home Talk

For today’s home talk, we have an interesting picture, take a look and discuss your thoughts with your family.

Questions:

  • In the picture, why is one side equal but not fair and the other side is fair but not equal?
  • When did something last happen that you thought was unfair? Why?
  • What makes some things fair and other things unfair?

Remember:

There are NO right or wrong answers to
these questions – simply YOUR answers.

You do, however, need to think about your
answers and be able to justify them – in other words, don’t say the first thing that comes into your head, AND, be prepared to fully explain your answers when you give them.

Listen to the answers given by others and treat them seriously – even if they sound odd, they may all be valid if they can be justified.

https://byrebeccamichelle.com/2016/08/22/fair-is-not-equal/

Keep up your efforts to occupy your mind and body, stay safe and remember to … you know what I’m going to say!  Wash those hands!

Look out for it on your post.

In today’s lesson, we will think about how one person’s actions can make a difference.

Read the resources below and follow the instructions. You can share your ideas with a family member or perhaps a friend, over the telephone.

After your discussion, complete the two challenge activities.

When you have finished, replay the video and the teacher will go through all the answers in detail.  Remember, this opportunity to mark and review is an important part of your learning process.
