Mathematics - Power Maths

Count by 2s Song

We have been learning to count in 2s. We noticed the pattern - all the numbers end in 2,4,6,8,0.

We have been learning about the 'teen' numbers. It is important that you know the value of the digits in a 2 digit number. With most numbers we can hear it in the number, for example 23 - We hear 20 and 3. With number 11 to 19 it is difficult to hear the value. We just need to learn that eleven is 'one ten one' and twelve is one ten two or 1 ten 2 or 10+2. We need to know these numbers are 10 and 'a bit'. Check out all the ways it can be represented!

This year we have started teaching maths through Power Maths. See the four characters below and how they help us with our learning
