We have been learning about teen numbers. We used the dienes and money to show different teen numbers.
We’ve been learning about ordinal numbers. We worked in pairs to match the word to the number. We then had a race with classroom equipment to see how far they would roll. We then placed the correct ordinal number by it.
We have been working together to order numbers to 20. We have been learning to use number tracks to find more and less than a given number.
We have been learning about estimating. We enjoyed exploring the different estimation stations and recording our estimates.
Doubles
We have been learning number bonds to 10. We have been working on our number fluency
We have been using dice and dominoes to help us to subitise. Subitising is when you don’t need to count the number because your brain recognises the pattern. We can only subitise numbers up to 6/7. We were really good at this skill.
We have been using the 100 bead string to count in 1s to 100. We recognised the pattern - after every 10 the colour changed. This really helped us when we were counting a given number such as 12!
