Science

Look at the growth so far! We have been amazed to see the changes and have made observations. We have enjoyed using language such as stems, shoots, leaves. We have made comments on the difference in the rate of growth. For example, we observed the cress had grown faster than the pea and sunflower.

After one week we have noticed some changes. We have observed a shoot from some of the peas. We have seen some of the sunflower seeds have shoots. We were especially impressed by the changes in the cress. We recorded our observations on our science lesson.

Day 1 Our cress and pea seeds are in the greenhouses. The sunflower seeds are in the pots.

Reading to learn. We have been exploring a range of non fiction books to help further our knowledge of plants.

We have been learning about plants and what they need. Most of us already knew plants need water and light. We now know they need air, the right temperature and nutrients. We painted cress, peas and sunflower seeds. We were amazed at the difference between the seeds. We also looked at daffodil bulbs and planted some.

We having been using the glue guns again to make greenhouses ready for planting next week!
