Dear Foundation children and parents
We hope you had a good weekend. Last week we recorded our Christmas song and all children did really well in learning the song and actions.
This week is our visual literacy week and it is based on the Nutcracker story. We are going to watch a ballet version of the story and then do some work around the story.
In maths we are going to introduce the children to money. We shall be looking at different coins up to £2.00.
In phonics we are learning the digraphs ng, ee and ai and learning to read tricky words 'my' and 'was.'
Enjoy the activities this week and we all wish you a happy holiday and a happy Christmas.

Can you remember the names of the characters?
What happened in the story?
Then with an adults support fill in the sheet below.
Maths - money
What do we use money for? Can you tell me what coins there are? Look at the coins below and describe them. What is their colour and shape? What number is on the coins? What is on the back of the coins.
Wednesday
Look at the characters below from the Nutcracker story. We would like you use some describing words to describe what they look like and use words to describe their character, eg. kind, mean.
Use a sentence to describe them.
