Crime Scene Investigation
In 5M we dressed up as detectives and we completed activities linked to our class reads: The Falcon's Malteser and Public Enemy Number Two. These books are all about detectives, police and solving crimes.
We were given an assignment to help to solve a murder mystery, in our classroom.
First, we collected evidence from the crime scene.
Fingerprint analysis
Secondly, we looked closely at fingerprints. We analysed the fingerprint found at the crime scene and we matched the fingerprint to the suspect.
Shoe print analysis
Next. we looked closely at our own shoe prints and then analysed the footprint found at the crime scene. We found it difficult to identify who the shoe belonged to because the prints were very similar.
Lastly, we solved clues to find out the name of a suspect and the weapon used.
In 5N, we spent the day exploring some of our favourite characters from our class novel (Public Enemy Number Two). Children created a box of jewels inspired by our class novel in the morning. During the afternoon, children took part in a crime scene investigation to try and find the missing box of Jewels. Each child created their own set of clues to help the detective find them. Below are some pictures of what the children did.
