Year 1 learning from home

Hi Year 1

I am missing you all already!

I know this is going to be a lot different to how we usually learn but we will do it together!

You have your home learning packs which you can do daily and we will update this section with daily activities. Check for the correct date.

Daily Tasks:

  • phonics for 20 minutes
  • use numbots for 10 minutes a day
  • read for 5 minutes a day
  • active learn for maths work (username and password is in your green book)

I hope you will continue your learning at home as we are still working hard to teach you from home. You want to continue to progress to be ready for Year 2. You are all good readers so can read my messages. Or ask your parents or older sibling to read the information to you.

BUG CLUB!

Dear parents,

There is new platform/section for the children to use at home. It is using their Active Learn log in. We will be allocating books for children to read which is at their phonic level, they will then be able to answer questions about the book they have read. The children can write the question and answers in their GREEN books as well.

To access the books look at the images below and next to the “Abacus” logo you will see it says “independent” click on that for your book.

Thank you for your continued support!

For the science work below look at the picture it has a lot of animals in it. Write a list of all the animals you can see. Don't look at the second picture as it has the answers! Then check which ones you got and write information or make a poster on 1,2 or all the animals in your books using BBC bitesize or another website.

Wednesday 1st April 2020

Good morning Year 1. Hope you are all well. This message is to remind you all that you have activities to complete on Active Learn. We have just checked and not many children have completed them. Remember your login details are in the homework books you were given. You have maths activities and books to read. We shall be checking again on Friday to see how many more children have completed their activities.

A big thank you to all the parents who have done some of the activities. Enjoy your day.

Wednesday 1st April 2020

We all love “Oi Frog” there are a lot of words that rhyme. Do you know what a rhyming word is?

Look at the pictures and write the words that rhyme in your book.

Oi Frog- rhyming words

Miss Williams Phonics group.

These words are made up using the phonemes you have learnt in school. Keep practising to read them. Today we would like you to read the words below to an adult. After you have done this, ask the adult to say these words and you write them down in your green books.

Good luck! We shall look at your work when we are back in school. Do these spellings several times.

Mrs Hussain had a craving for pakoreh and so she made some and they were yummy. They were all eaten very quickly. Would you like some?

Ingredients needed

gram flour (behsan)

salt

crushed red chilly flakes

water

onions

potatoes

dry coriander ( I think that you can do without this)

oil

Method

1. Mix the gram flour with water to the right consistency. (runny and thick so the mixture stays on the back of a spoon)

2. Add all the ingredients and mix in.

3. Then use your hand and take some mixture and put into hot oil. ( turn the heat down down so that the pakoreh are not raw and cooked too fast)

4. If your mixture is too thin, add some more gram flour.
