"Hablemos EspaƱol" Let's speak Spanish

¡Hola!

On Monday 9th December we launched our new Modern Foreign Language – SPANISH!

All children in Key stage 2 will commence learning this wonderful language in January. Did you know, Spanish is the second biggest language across the world and Spain has a rich history linked with their own empire?

We all wore red or yellow to school, and donated 50p towards our school fund. During the day, the children learned about aspects of Spanish culture and life, as well as starting to learn the language. Children in Key Stage 1 will not follow a language curriculum, however, we want them to be a part of the launch day and they will learn some key phrases throughout the day.

Have a look in the Year Group Section of this website for activities carried out.

Thank you for your support with our fund raising effort!

Brookfields' Bees

UNICEF Article 28-Every child  has the right to an education. Primary education must be free. Secondary education must be available for every child.

After finding that we had Bees in our Community House, we thought we would take the opportunity to learn from our very unusual situation. We decided to have a Bee Day - celebrating the amazing life of the Bees and how without them our planet would die.

There were approximately 100,000 Bee in the house! The removal of the Bees cost nearly 17,000 pounds!

Pupils took part in a range of activities across school and tried to answer questions like

- Why are Bees important to us?

 - Why do they make honey?

 - Where do they live and what are their homes like?

The images above show some examples of the activities that took place during the day!

We learned so many facts about the importance of Bees in our live?
