Hello! Welcome to Year 4!

On this page we will be updating you on what we are doing in school!

 

Remember P.E is on Wednesdays and Thursdays so bring your kit in for those days.

Reading books and Reading Records need to be in everyday for reading groups.

Homework is given out on Fridays and expected to be brought back in for Tuesdays.

 

Remember to continue to practise your timestables!

Today Year 4 had a visit from a Viking! He taught us about the gods, life during this time, games they played and even the weapons they used.

WB 6.2.23- it is Mental Health and Well-being Week with the theme of Let’s Connect! We have been exploring our connections with other people and connecting through song and dance. Look at our video below!

Tuesday 31st January- The firemen came to talk to us about what to do if the was a fire, how to call 999 and even showed us some of the equipment they use in an emergency!

In Y4, we work hard daily to ensure that we can recall and remember these key facts.

These Year 4 boys enjoyed making paper planes. They picked their design and followed the instructions carefully. The 'Simple Dart' design definitely travelled the furthest!

Thursday 15th December 2022

Reading is the key to everything! In Y4 we have been working hard completing 'Fresh Start' to support our progress in reading. Our teachers are really pleased with our progress!

Monday 12th December 2022

These Year 4 pupils are busy completing their essay question in History. They are sharing all the knowledge that they have learnt in their most recent unit of work.

The top picture shows a mixture of coloured water and oil FLOATING above it. The oil is less dense than the water. we added a fizzy vit C tablet to see what would happen. Bubbles of carbon dioxide we given off.

Thank you to everyone who came to the workshop. We hope it will help you to support your children with their reading and we even had the opportunity to look at the book fair!

Year 4 have been learning how to play cricket with a coach. Not only have we learnt the skills to play we have also been doing some team building activities. We had to make a cricket player and pitch out of the equipment. Which is your favourite?

Week beginning 14th November:

 

This week was Anti-Bullying week. We looked at who we can talk to if we see bullying happening. 

 

In English we have been planning an explanation text about a machine that makes sweets- not just any type of sweet. Sweets made at Willy Wonka's factory. 

 

This week Year 4 went to Cadbury World as part of their learning about the Journey of Chocolate and Bournville.

We had an interesting talk about how chocolate is made, we enjoyed the 4D cinema and we had a tour of the factory!

Year 4 have started to learn ukuleles this year!
